Depuis une dizaine d’années Electric Vocuhila développe une musique singulière, puissante et volubile. Le groupe s’inspire de diverses musiques africaines contemporaines urbaines ou de cérémonies comme le tsapiky malgache, le sungura et les musiques tradi-modernes congolaises. Il allie une orchestration et un rapport à l’improvisation issue du (free) jazz à une recherche de saturation rock.
Leur 4^e album Kiteky est dédié aux musicien·ne·s de tsapiky rencontré·e·s lors d’une tournée à Madagascar avec les musicien.ne.s du groupe Behaja.

For the past ten years, Electric Vocuhila has been developing a singular, powerful and voluble music. The group is inspired by various contemporary African urban or ceremonial musics such as the Malagasy tsapiky, the Sungura and the Congolese tradi-modern musics. It combines an orchestration and a relationship to improvisation from (free) jazz with a search for rock saturation.
Their 4^th album Kiteky is dedicated to the tsapiky musicians they met during a tour in Madagascar with the musicians of the band Behaja.
